The primary purpose of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. How can we glorify Him if we are not aware of Him? How can we enjoy Him if we do not know His character? He has created us to learn, and has created everything so that He may be found in and through it all. And since He has graciously given us our lives, what better way to spend our days than dedicating them to knowing Him?

Learning begins the moment we are born and continues until the moment we die. There are things we must learn in order to survive in the world in which we live, but only when we recognize God’s character and marvelous plan through it all can we truly thrive in the lives He has given us.

Education is not just for children, neither is it all about getting accepted into a prestigious school to earn a shiny degree to move on to an impressive career. The purpose of education is to know God and to make Him known. Though it may be difficult or seem completely unnecessary at times, education is important because it is an intensive study of what God has created. Our approach to education should not be an apprehensive one, but rather one of an eager desire to glorify and know our Creator.

Romans 1:20 states, “For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” This matters to all of God’s children, for we must continue to grow in Him and learn as much as possible about Him if we are truly devoted to living for His glory.
